Sad Day for the Battallion
Categories: Iraq
Today we honored a fallen soldier who unfortunately passed away from a non-combat related accident. As I sat there today, I wondered how many more of these we will have to sit through in our remaining six months here. We have been blessed in that we were in a relatively safe area for the first half of our deployment, performing good will missions and getting to know the Iraqi people and their cultures and customs. However, with our move to Mosul, this is no longer the case. We now have to put on our serious game faces and face the enemy in what is becoming their last stand, their final frontier. We are well trained and we are ready for this challenge. I only hope and pray this this was the first and last memorial we have to attend.
